Dan Geer: No excuse for skipping security metrics

“It’s been nearly five years since security pioneer Dan Geer was fired from @Stake for co-writing a paper warning that a Microsoft monoculture threatened national security. Now the vice president and chief scientist at Waltham, Mass.-based data security firm Verdasys Inc. is offering full-day tutorials on the importance of security metrics and has just released a new book called “Economics and Strategies of Data Security,” the first in a series of volumes exploring why data security is critical to business today.”
